Ingrid Schultz

Showing in the Lions closet is Ingrid Schultz’s Seasonal Therapy, a 3D photography cure for Seasonal Affective Disorder, an affliction that many Seattleites become familiar with during dark winter months.

Ingrid was inspired to create Seasonal Therapy after a particularly grim winter several years ago as a sort of DIY cure for the winter blues. The installation turns the closet into a miniature summer sanctuary and includes 3D viewers with reels of sunny, summery moments and a tiny spot of turf on the ground where the viewer can relax while they look through the viewfinders. More than usual 2D photographs, the stereoscopic images create a sensory experience that thrusts the viewer into the captured moment, giving the the sense of being able to actually touch or be a part of the image.

Ingrid Schultz has been creating stereoscopic photography for over five years. An avid collector of obscure Viewmaster reels, Ingrid was compelled to learn how to make her own 3D images.
